Principal's Message

Greetings Catamounts,

I am Celisa Borom, the proud Principal of Marshall Middle Academy of Fine Arts. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, I am a product of Houston ISD and truly honored to bring my journey full circle by returning to serve the very district that laid the foundation for my educational path.

I bring over thirteen years of experience in education, including leadership roles as an Assistant Principal, Instructional Specialist, and Lead Science Teacher. I am deeply committed to cultivating a positive, data-informed, and inclusive school culture that uplifts students, staff, families, and the broader community. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from Tuskegee University, pursued medical studies abroad at the Medical School of Sciences in Havana, Cuba, and later completed my Master’s degree in Public Health at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

I look forward to continuing my work with the Marshall community and our greater Northside partners as we strive to position Marshall Middle Academy of Fine Arts as the premier middle school in the community. We are uniquely poised to provide students with rich, meaningful opportunities across academics, athletics, and the visual and performing arts.

Collaboration is at the heart of my leadership. I am committed to working alongside our staff and stakeholders to create a learning environment grounded in excellence, equity, and high expectations—one that ensures every student, regardless of background or circumstance, has access to a rigorous, high-quality education that prepares them for future success. Every decision I make—whether instructional, operational, or cultural—is intentionally anchored in what best serves our students’ academic growth, well-being, and long-term opportunities.

I am proud to continue this important work with you. I look forward to connecting with our students and community and cannot wait to see all that we will accomplish together this school year!
