School History
Established in 1913, Marshall Middle Academy of Fine Arts was initially named Northside Junior High School. The campus was renamed in the 1930s for John Marshall, the fourth Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court. The name was changed again to Marshall Middle School when it went from grades 7-9 to grades 6-8. In the early 90s, the school became a fine arts magnet. The original Northside Junior High School building was replaced by a new building in the early '80s. The old columns from that building are now showcased near Castillo Park.
